This is my husband's philosophy. He always says people should make things just a little better each day - improve the way a building looks by fixing the windows; repaint an old door; get rid of unnecessary road signs; buy just a few new books for the local library - and everything would be dramatically improved. It applies to things at home too. Sometimes it is hard to see the wood for the tress.

I've been doing something similar to your Just One, but mine involves choosing just one extra chore throughout the house that I can accomplish each day. (Extra because it's in addition to the usual laundry, dishes, vacuuming, etc.)Last Friday, I took apart all the blades on our two kitchen ceiling fans and gave them a thorough scrubbing. The whole process took about 45 minutes and was so rewarding. Today while I bake a cheesecake and pie for Thanksgiving, I'll try to find another quick kitchen chore to do.
