AMEN! This has been my clarion call for years.

Sandy C.

I've been reading Wendell Berry's novels and the life that they depict is indeed simpler but harder, poorer yet richer, more isolated yet more connected. Strange, isn't it? I've been thinking thoughts very similar to yours. In particular, the way the men work together in each others' fields during planting and harvesting sounds so welcome from our individualized work styles. The women gather to provide dinner at noon for the work crew. Everyone seems more connected, even though they don't even have telephones, much less cell phones.

I don't want to give up indoor plumbing, my washing machine or even my car, either. Yet, I'm quite intrigued by this simpler lifestyle.
