When We Pray for Others

005Orion

"When we pray for others,

the Spirit of God works

in the unconscious domain

of their being that we know nothing about,

and the one we are praying for knows nothing about,

but after the passing of time,

the conscious life of the one prayed for

begins to show signs of unrest and disquiet.

We may have spoken until we are worn out,

but have never come anywhere near,

and we have given up in despair.

But if we have been praying,

we find on meeting them one day

that there is the beginning of a softening in an inquiry

and a desire to know something.

It is that kind of intercession

that does most damage to Satan's kingdom.

It is so slight, so feeble in its initial stages

that if reason is not wedded to the light of the Holy Spirit,

we will never obey it,

and yet it is that kind of intercession

that the New Testament places most emphasis on."

Today

The Gravity Box

Today

I will meditate

I will exercise my body

I will eat good food in moderation

I will find beauty

I will love

Today

I will work

 I will laugh

  I will mourn

I will relax

 I will sleep

Today

I will ask for honesty and confession

I will hope for mended relations

I will watch for repentance

I will offer forgiveness

I will pray for grace

Today...

Preparation Time: Advent

2011-11-30

Chopped, hauled, split, and stacked--

ready for the cold days of winter.

Pine boughs, hanging low, cut off and placed...

On the lamp post.

The Paw Warmer

Paw Warmer

Fluffy Boy:

"I love you, Mom!

See me?

I'm lying in front of you.

Wash my face!

Mom?

MOM?"

Mama Kitty:

"I'm so weary.

Later, big guy;

I simply want to warm my toes by the fire.

But, well...

You're one of  my last kittens.

Sigh.

Even if you are bigger than I am...

I suppose"

Oreo:

"Paw warmer! Me, too!"

I know. They don't REALLY say this. But come. Watch them. You'll know EXACTLY what they are saying to each other.  ;-)

Morning Twilight

Morning twilight

Foggy, dewy, damp

Cattle placidly munching hay
